• Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant @ Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur


    Introduction:


    A well known casual dining Taiwan restaurant that has been operating for years with several outlets in different shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur. I have actually blogged about Fong Lye Taiwanese Restaurant at the Garden Mid Valley quite sometime ago. But, this would be my first visit to the Jalan Imbi outlet.


    Ambiance:

    A quintessential restaurant with calming Chinese interior is comfortable for a lunch or dinner gathering.

    Food & Beverages:

    Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant serves graceful and authentic Taiwanese cuisine as well as Chinese cuisine. Quality chinese tea are served too.

         

    Three Varieties of supreme dried chicken (Sam Pei Chicken) @ RM 38.00 (medium)

    Aromatic and appetizing! Sam Pei chicken served in hot pot prepared with basil leaves, ginger, garlic ,onions and chinese cooking wine.

    Rice wine marinated crispy pork @ RM 28.00 (medium)
    Very well marinated, crispy-ly fried with juiciness maintained.

       

    Fried Pork Liver @ RM 24.00 (medium)
    Pork liver anyone? This is good. Fried pork liver (not overcooked) with flavorful sauce.

    Fried Prawn with Pepper @ RM 46.00 (medium)
    Fresh succulent prawn prepared with spicy, peppery chilli toppings.

       

    Black pepper bean curd @ RM 19.00 (medium)
    Hot, smooth and tasty!

    Assorted Vegetables with fresh lily bulbs almonds @ RM 28.00 (medium)
    Fried beans and vegetable with onions, lily bulbs and almond flakes. A perfect combination of all.
    Fresh and savory.


    Wrap up:

    The menu is classic Taiwanese with a few innovations. Three varieties of supreme dried chicken, also known as Sam Pei Chicken is one of their signature dishes which is highly recommended. Worth a try!

  • Hing Loong Taiwanese Noodle @ Jalan Bachang, Malacca (Melaka)

    Malacca-Heaven of Food!!

    Hing Loong Taiwanese Noodle a restaurant with more than 30 years of history that serves irresistible pork rib noodles and spicy beef noodles.


    Late afternoon-Tables are still fully taken, one unoccupied table- I have just left!


    Fried pork ribs- Well marinated, crispy & aromatic- Thumbs up!


    Fried pork ribs served with soya noodles. Add in some spicy soy bean paste provided- delicious!


    Spicy stewed beef noodles-Simply pleasing!

    My brother loves their beef noodles so much! He finished the soup- I bet it must be good!

    Price? It's reasonable. Funny, I have been there uncountable times, and yet I don't know how much they charged per bowl. Eat lah!!

  • Taipei Walker @ Kuchai Lama

    Another casual dining restaurant to share with everyone- Taipei Walker!

    Taipei walker- A restaurant located at Kuchai Lama that serves variety of interesting Taiwanese cuisine, snacks, drinks and desserts.


    Assorted Taiwanese Mee Sua @ RM6.90

    Preferred this comparing to Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks available at the mall. Much more tastier, or perhaps- it suits my taste bud. Aromatic gravy with fresh oyster. Keep it up!


    Tainan Tan Cai Noodles with Chicken Chop @ RM 9.90
    Simple & Nice- Like it!


    Sam Pei Chicken 台式三杯鸡饭 RM12.90

    The set comes with rice, tofu, soup & fruits. It's know as Sam Pei Chicken as the dish is prepared with three main ingredient- soy sauces, bean oil and Chinese wine. To kick it up,ginger and spring onion was added in to enhance the aroma.


    Taiwanese Chicken Chop 台式雞排饭 @ RM 12.90
    The set also comes with rice, tofu, soup & fruits. Aromatic Taiwanese style fried chicken.


    Shih Lin Chicken Chop @ RM 6.00

    Healthier than those we can get in hawker stalls? Yes! The not too greasy and over powering pepper version.


    Steamed bread with butter & kaya (coconut jam)

    Ahhh... I know, this is not Taiwanese cuisine! Just happened to order this for a supper session during second visit.

    Environmental wise- just nice!
